| Job description | 3rd Shift NOC Weekends (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) Friday-Saturday 11:00pm-12:30pm (noonish) and Sundays 8:00pm-9:30am A large financial services firm in the northern Chicago suburbs is looking for a NOC Network Engineer to work the 3rd shift during weekends ( Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Key Responsibilities include: - Provide consulting services for key application and technology partners (SAP, NextGen, Alliance, ISG, EDMS, etc) to ensure efficient and effective management of network technology supporting those areas. - Plan, manage, and execute complex network system changes in support of customer requests (Request Center, Deployment). - Represent network teams in project Design Review Meetings to clarify project requirements, design solutions in accordance with standards, create CRE estimates, document, and lead solution in coordination with project manager and other assigned resources. - Manage efforts to test, debug, and analyze performance, and document network hardware and software technology components. - Manage efforts to implement network hardware and software technology components by analysing the current environment using technical tools and utilities, performing complex product customization, and developing implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of network hardware/software. - Manage complex network hardware and software technology component analysis, and evaluation of resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels or tune hardware and software technology components for optimum performance. - Resolve highly complex or critical incidents, logging and communicating issues and resolutions. - Provide Technical Review and approval for major and significant changes to ensure accuracy, alignment to standards, and to avoid incidents/service interruption. - Lead efforts to analyze and resolve complex incidents and problems and balance the workload against incident priorities. Ensure all related incidents and problems are appropriately resolved. - Analyze variances and initiate effectiveness or efficiency improvements in the organization, standards, procedures or methods. - Provide coaching and direction for more junior engineers, serving as Subject Matter Expert for network requirements within assigned areas of responsibility. - Review and validate accuracy of other's estimates. Qualifications Qualified candidates will meet the following criteria: - Ability to work 3rd shift weekends Education: - College degree or equivalent work experience; - Related experience: 5+ years of experience with enterprise network systems Skills, Experience Required: - Lan switching - Cisco IOS switching, HP Procurve - Wan Routers - Cisco ISR - Routing (Moderate BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, Static routes, route maps NAT, PIM SM) - QOS - CBWFQ, Policing, Shaping, troubleshooting - Protocol analysis ( TCP/IP required, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SIP) - Spanning tree (PVST+, RSPT preferred, MST) - VPN's (Point to Point Vpn's, Dmvpn) Skills, Experience Preferred: - CCNP with 5 years experience - Cisco NXOS, 7000, 5000, and 2000 - F5 LTM, GTM - Scripting ability - VMware or Windows experience would be a plus. - Juniper routing and switching - VRF lite or MPLS |
